If variety is what you're looking for, this is the place. South Africa has a long coastline ranging from about 35°S to 27°S, which is not within the normal range for tropical diving. However, Mozambique's waters bring warm tropical water and the Sodwana Bay reefs are the world's southernmost coral. Here you will find colorful fish, some great nudibranchs, such as Spanish dancer, whale sharks, turtles, dolphins and sharks are found.

The water gradually changes until it reaches Cape Town to dive through cold but beautiful forests of seaweed. A worthwhile dive in cold water, it's like walking on a floating forest while suprisingly colourful reefs are to be admired. In Cape Town you can see anemones ranging in colour from electric blue or deep red to pale pink, nudibranchs of almost every color imaginable, and a series of small creatures in and around the bright yellow sponges.

One of the most exciting experiences is cage diving near white sharks. Divers and adventurers travel from around the world to view this magnificent creature immersing in a cage for near these large predators.
