Protea Banks is home to the tuna, which explains why it is so popular with bull sharks almost all year patrolling the reef in search of food. Shy, big hammerhead shark also makesan appearance in these waters occasionally. Behind a massive school of barracuda five or six black tip sharks can be seen. These beautiful animals always seem to be playing tag with divers and behave like puppies underwater. When the current is slow but steady head to Sand Shark Gulley, where a patch of sand the size of a football field is located and you can see up to 60 giant guitar sharks. The bull sharks can also be seen in many of ± 100 or 200 at a time during the breeding season. Its friendly and curious nature makes them a favorite among many divers. Topping the list is the magnificent tiger shark, often surprising us as Protea Banks, classified as one of the best shark dives in the world.
