"Sea of the Antilles" is a common alternative name for the Caribbean Sea. It is known for its islands and coral reefs that attract millions of tourists every year. Part of the Atlantic Ocean, bordering Central America and South America, it is one of the largest seas in the world. It connects the Pacific Ocean through the popular Panama Canal, reaching its deepest dimension (over 2493 ft) in the Cayman Trench, between Cuba and Jamaica. Its tropical location keeps the water temperature relatively high and constant throughout the year, which, along with the ocean currents favours a large presence of biodiversity while making it an enjoyable diving environment.  The underwater scenery offers colorful reefs with plenty of life. Butterfly fish, damselfish and angelfish are some of the most common inhabitants of this environment, together with other fascinating creatures such as sea turtles, eagle rays, seahorses and impressive sharks.
